JESSI RYAN
Critically acclaimed artiste, performer and journalist Jessi Ryan returns to the Midsumma Presents program with a deeply personal and reflective experiential project that in clear eyed vision exposes the fault lines in discourse that seek to erase us.
SKIN: THE EXHIBITION
6-8 February
Friday 12-6
Saturday 12-8
Sunday 11-7 (Victoria's Street Pride Party day)
The exhibition brings contemporary queer histories to the fore, through an immersive video experience. Enshrined in this space are the stories of 6 diverse lgbtqia+ community members as told by their tattooed cartography. Using your personal device- scanning a series of QR codes unlocks further content and interviews. THIS EXHIBITION IS FREE
SKIN: THE PERFORMANCE
Friday 6 February
8pm
The performance recontextualizes and transforms the exhibition space for one very special night. Ryan - in 8 inch pleasers will perform a new solo “performance art ritual” so wild it is impossible to recreate. For Ryan that exhibition content featured here, wasn't enough. THIS IS A TICKETED EVENT

SKIN features the diverse stories and experiences of these 5 community participants, alongside the inclusion of Ryan’s “self portrait”.

Dax Carnay-Hanrahan is an award-winning transwoman artist, actor, writer, and in-demand speaker with a rich heritage in the arts.
Elle is a musician and bartender working on Smith St. Growing up in the north east of England. Her family migrated to Perth when she was 9, she has lived in Melbourne since 2024.
Sprinkle Magic was born in Rome in 1970, then raised across the vast landscapes of Australia. For the past 3 decades, Melbourne has been her home- embracing her as a beloved fixture in our creative underground.
